RobL1854 8/3/2026

So far, the downdraft range is working wonderfully. It will take us a while to explore all of its features, but we are very pleased with its performance to date. It's a great upgrade from our previous one.

Fine and good-looking overn but...

Chucker 8/3/2026

Stove/oven is very good, thou cost more to get the opening for it properly set up for it to fit in the space where prior oven was. Somewhat tricky to get how the temperature settings go on the knobs for the stove, as "dual" and "single" show on opposite sides and "hi" and "low" are tricky to get right when cooking.

Love the cook top and the center vent

Rileynurse1 7/25/2026

We are enjoying our new range. The only suggestion I would have is how to keep the glass top clean. I feel like I always have a ring there even though I use glass, top stove cleaner. I also don™€™t really understand the burners and what they mean I didn™€™t get a horror spaniel so I™€™m still trying to figure things out other than that we really like it

Perfect Cooking

JCW1 6/17/2026

Needed a Jenair downdraft replacement. Options were limited, and install was a bit challenging, but in the end, excellent product. The cook top is perfect with precise temperature controls and great burner sizes and options. The inside oven space is very large. Best oven I've ever used due to impressive heat distribution even with multiple items cooking simultaneously on all racks. I truly notice an improvement in food quality and consistency. Emily using it. It is easy to keep clean. Definitely recommend the Afresh glass top cleaner. Works perfectly and I've made some messes. Highly recommend. Suggest having the unit professionally installed to make your life easier.

I dont care 6/3/2026

Needs a user manual or on your website videos beyond installation instructions to know how to best use features. Steep learning curve to figure things out by trial and error. Lots of ruined food. Very different from my convection Jenn Aire. For this much money, I expected more from you.

I am afraid to use my new stove with the glass top

Gingersnaper 6/3/2026

I am afraid to use my new stove. How can I protect the glass top? What cover can I use that won't damage the top or burn down my house if I forget to turn something off? When I take a pot off a burner, can I set it on the down draft vent grate to stop the cooking? It seems that the only recommended pots are heavy and more likely to break the glass if my hands can't grip any more. I hope you will respond to my questions.

Couldn™€™t be happier with the controls on top, self cleaning, glass top, convection. Nothing better because you don™€™t need a hood and great for an island.

The glass top on the range scratched on the very first pan I used on it. And I had bought pans to work with a glass top stove. Not real happy about that. I do love the pull out grate on the bottom of the oven. Also the vey bottom piece on the outside of the oven keeps falling off. For the amount we paid for it you would expect better.

Not with the money

Nichols 65 1/20/2026

Bought the range at the end of November. I had a Jen air previously that was about 12 years old. It also had a glass top. The kitchen aid stove top scratches so easy. I know how to take care of a glass top. I use the product I used on my previous one and it never scratched it. Also when you set the timer, the oven goes off after it cooks time set. Well that™€™s inconvenient if the dish has to cook longer. Not impressed with this range at all.

Dual cook top is most versatile

Downey for downdraft 1/14/2026

We bought this model since downdraft style models are limited to very few. The range functionality is fine and seems to be a good cooking partner. Though its appearance and/or style rates well I believe the structure and facia are on the skimpy/shallow side. For example, the lower front panel is simply a hollow skin behind the stainless-steel front!

Not sure this was a good decision

K S F 1/12/2026

My stove was installed and working on Jan 19, 2025. I had 2 JennAir ranges before and needed a downdraft range. I have owned many Kitchen Aid appliances big and small and was not concerned about buying the range. What was disappointing, the owners manual did not explain how to use the various elements and the oven. I had to download and print out the user's manual, which I feel should have been included with the range. I have struggled with two of the burners because they don't work the way the guide describes. At this point I have a service technician scheduled today. (1-12-2026) I hope he can fix it. I am an avid cook and loved the description of some of the options the range offered, but at this point they don't do what was described. Thank you, Karen

Just got this before the holidays and only need to use the range for reheat foods and making simple soups, so far it™€™s ok, as the fan is very loud, and the soup pots slide around while being stired. The glass also easily scratched even with light stainless steel cookwares. We hope to like this product more after more cooking!!!

My first one only lasted 7 years, with two replacements of the electrical panel. I only purchased another because it was the only model that would fit in my kitchen island with a downdraft. It takes forever to preheat. The cleaning mechanism never worked correctly in the first one. Have yet to try our new one.

I needed a downdraft

Adela66 12/24/2025

The way my kitchen is configured, I must have a downdraft range and KitchenAid and Jennair are the only ones who make such a range. I would have bought Jennair to replace my existing Jennair as I got 21 years of good service from it but the Jennair prices are crazy high so I went with KitchenAid. Hope I get the same service. The price and the volume of the fan are why I rated 4 stars. My hope was that in 21 years Whirlpool could reduce the loud fan noise - great venting but it still sounds loud. I like the look of the new stove, sleek and pretty. I like the dual eye and the slide out shelf in the oven is great. One thing I don™€™t like is the Stainless Steel. It™€™s different from the SS on my dishwasher and fridge. It streaks and is hard to keep clean. Whirlpool please address this because at this price, this range should be perfect. Overall, I™€™m satisfied but very pricy.

Some Good Features Some Drawbacks

Leah65 12/9/2025

I bought this range about a month ago. I like the size of the oven and the easy slide out racks, but there are a few features I don't care for. I preferred my old glass top range that covered the countertop and was easier to clean. The KitchenAid does not cover the top of the counter and I had to purchase gap fillers to hide the gap between the range and the counter's edge. I also find the top of the range harder to clean because the glass top is surrounded by a rubber seal and stainless-steel trim versus my old range that had an uninterrupted surface. It makes it harder to clean up spills. I only had two choices of downdraft range, however, and neither one had the larger glass surface. I preferred the look of the KitchenAid over the other brand. I am happy with the quality and value of the product, just disappointed with its design.

Still new for me

Sciverson 12/4/2025

This range replaced a downdraft gas/electric stove. There were only two options for a downdraft. I'm getting used to using the glass cooktop, it does scratch easily though, but heats up evenly. I have to remember the glass holds heat longer than the gas cast iron grates on the old stove. I purchased a fiberglass/silicone pad to place on top when not in use (and it's cooled off). We're always wanting to place things on the stove and this helps protect it and gives more usable countertop. The oven slide is nice, wish both grates had a slide. Tried the steam tray with a loaf of sourdough and it didn't seem to help. I have since taken out the tray. Overall it seems to be a nice oven, still getting used to it. I do love the big glass window on the oven door, fun to watch your dutch babies rising.

Extremely difficult to install

SueVT 11/28/2025

We paid for installation and then the dealer would not do it. Instead, we had to get an electrician to change the wiring from 3 prong to 4 prong, new wire to the electrical panel. Then, I had to study the lengthy installation book and instruct him where to place the new outlet. Then, I had to order several 5™€ ductwork pieces, aluminum tape, clamps, and a 5 1/4™€ hole saw to start the install. The template allows only a small area for the new hole in the floor (my previous two Jenn Air ranges used a hole in the center of the stove area, this one places the hole near the back wall). Floor joists and the position of the outlet complicated this. We finally (after two weeks) got the hole in the floor, transferred the template marks to the floor and positioned the horizontal blower within the boundaries. Attached the elbow, clamped, screwed down the blower and pushed in the stove. Then discovered the that 8 short screws for completing the installation do Not fit any of the holes. They are not even close to fitting. Eight hours later we found some screws that were somewhat workable, though they wouldn™€™t tighten down. Stove delivered on October 12 was finally installed the night before Thanksgiving, which made a more meaningful holiday.

Safety concern with our new stove

Lori Melendy 11/24/2025

Our new KitchenAid electric downdraft stove was installed in July 2025, model # KSEG950ESS6. I am reporting a major Safety concern. When the stove is turned on, the auto exhaust fan that vents air to the top rear vents get extremely hot. Our stove is installed into a free standing counter, it's not against any walls, so people sitting at the counter can be burned by the heat coming out of 1-2 top vents on left rear. One cannot touch the top 2 rear vents without getting scalded. I reported this to Albert Lee Appliance who referred me to Kitchen Aid Whirlpool who dispatched their local service person from "Appliance & Refrigeration Hospital". They reported that this is just the way this particular stove operates and there is nothing we can do. Our previous 20 year old downdraft stove never had this problem, it also had a much bigger fan located under the stove not like this new stove which has a much smaller fan located inside top left, I saw it operating when the service person was here. It is a poor design and fan not doing it's job correctly. I'm reporting that this new stove is unsafe and needs a better fan system. This new stove gets scary hot whenever I cook at temps from 150-400. The other 3 vents on the top right of stove don't get scary hot at all. I believe there is a flaw in your design. I believe this model needs to be recalled before someone really gets burned. Please advise me as this new expensive stove is under still under warrantee.

not a slide in

mcdougald 11/15/2025

This stove is not a slide in. It has big rubber bumpers on the back side that we were told you could not remove for safety issues. This leaves a open gap between the stove and the back wall. All kinds of food will fall into this hole. I spend 4 hours on the phone to be told rubber must stay or void the warranty. Very disappointed in my 3,700 dollar stove. also the back left corner of this stove is so hot when you use the oven if you touch it your hand will be burnt. Scary, and only used my oven 2 times due to this

Disappointed

Steve0120 11/14/2025

There is really nothing that we like about this range except the door closes more securely than our previous one. This stove is larger than the previous one so it sticks out past the edge of the counter, it is impossible to keep the top clean and the vent along the back gets quite hot and people sitting at the island have to be careful not touch it. The burners get really hot and even on the very lowest setting, foods stick and burn.

We have had our range for over a month and really like it. Our last downdraft range was 35 years old. This was the only option so there was no comparison of other products. It is easy to use, intuitive and heats up fast on top and the heat in the oven is even and cooks well. So far so good!

New Kitchen Aid slide in downdraft range

Floyd P 11/10/2025

Only complaint is the down draft vent isn™€™t nearly as efficient as our old 34 year old Jenn Air downdraft slide in range

Average Range

Overall I am pleased with the range, however the burners do seem to take a while to heat up a pan. Also DO NOT buy this for the self clean feature for it is basically useless. We have tried several times and just does not clean well at all.

Not great

I cook a lot and needed a reliable stove/oven so I went with the well known brand Kitchen Aid. I also picked this brand as it makes a downdraft stove which I believe is only made by 2 companies. The stove top showed scratches immediately, and stains. The burners run on either low or crazy hot so simmer or just heating things up is difficult.

Poor features.

The burners cycle on and off. When they are off, you can't tell where the heat is. The markers designating the area of the burner are of minimal use. The cycling is ok for soups, etc., but very inconvenient for sauces, etc. The glass surface allows pots and skillets to slide around very easily. This feature and the cycling make for frustrating cooking.

Bought this to replace my 37 year old downdraft range that was finally dying. I didn™€™t have too many options for a downdraft range. I don™€™t like stainless steel for starters, not used to the glass top and the oven doesn™€™t heat like my old one. Maybe I just need time to adjust to this one. Time will tell. I also didn™€™t get a scraper that was supposed to come with it.
