Mediocre at best

ka123 8/3/2026

Works as it should and is very quiet. There are 2 drawbacks. One is you have to hold a button and wait for a 3 second countdown to start the machine. The second drawback is the end of cycle notification is so quiet you can hardly hear it. There are three levels and none are loud enough or long enough.

Good Enough

KOGAS 7/23/2026

Needs a light inside the drum when removing laundry. Needs a faster spin in the rinse cycle for water removal. A reversible door would also be nice. Love the extra rinse cycle option but would prefer if it was a stand alone feature with all the other wash cycle choices and not an add on to chosen cycle. Love the fresh hold option.

Terrible Service!

tug1973 3/3/2026

I have been trying to get this unit serviced since I bought it. I have had service techs here, 4 times now. They tell me that Maytag knows about the issue, fixed it in other models, but keeps sending the same part that doesnt work. Trying to get a hold of Maytag directly is next to impossible. I used to buy Maytag for its name and known quality, never again. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Self Maintenance Design flaws

Average Bud 2/11/2026

Overall, I like this appliance performance and its features, however the conscious descision to not allow access to the pump filter is an absolutely idiotic. A complete removal of the washer front and top is required to access the pump filter to remove hair, coins or other debris that most certainly will occur over the life of the front-loading washing machine. This is most certainly a conscious design decision to force consumers to call for a service technician to clear the pump filter. If I had known this, I would not have purchased. Maytag you disappoint me.

We are delighted with our new Maytag washer. We heard many times that you cannot stack an old dryer on top of a new machine ™€¦ you certainly can if you get the right model recommended by the manufacturer to replace the nearly 18 year old one. We will always have a Maytag!

Love the machine didn™€™t like the process of ordering online. Couldn™€™t speak to a person had to chat. So frustrated I took almost an hour to order my phone. Never received any in formation after ordering. I was told to create an account online I did and nothing was ever put in it.. still to this day. The delivery was great. The order was the biggest hassle ever. Next time I will just go to my local store. Let me check products, but this was a nightmare.

Poor Engineering / Design / Features !!

EL- STINKO 12/26/2025

Not happy with washer purchase !! Black tinted door (cannot see inside washer when door is closed) - no easy access to pump filter if cleaning needed (may require a PAID service call in the future - - - not even sure if the machine has one or not because of terrible owners manual) - door pull on top causes plastic door to bend when pulled open (will eventually break plastic door pin latch located mid door) - excess moisture accumulation in detergent compartment - owners manual is USELESS (covers a broad range of models with no specifics for purchased machine - e.g., not all washer "codes" may apply, machine may or may not have, etc.). Would have returned product if it wasn't such a pain !!

Maytag was suggested to me by my Appliance repair person after another American brand failed after only two years of service. I am very happy with the cleaning performance, quietness compared to prior unit and functionality. Overall this is a great upgrade from what I had previously. I should have started with Maytag and would not have had the issues I did. Buy nice or buy thrice!

Problematic product and no/poor customer service

Maxf 11/3/2025

Purchased washer on 10/6/25 with delivery on 10/10/25. After 8 loads we got code F5E3 on display. Resolve for this code is not reflected in manual. Went online and learned it was relative to the door lock and resolve is to unplug and reply washer. This is extremely difficult for me, as I am awaiting surgery. The code is now appearing after every 4 loads. The dealer referred me to a Whirlpool 800#. I have tried that number numerous times, as well as another number and have been on hold over 10 hours without speaking to someone. This is a new product and should not be happening.

So far so good but haven™€™t had it long. Replaced a maytag front loader that we had fixed 1-2 times in the last 14 years. Our old maytag door was metal and glass and this new one is plastic. That was disappointing to me. But otherwise functions well and seems to do its job just fine. I probably won™€™t use a lot of the settings-I™€™m pretty simple and just need a few! I™€™d love a matching dryer but hard to give up our old one that still works just fine.

Intelligent, Friendly Design & Cleans Very Well

Kelh 10/28/2025

The door on my LG front-load washing machine spontaneously blew out when no one was home, after being mildly used for just 3 years. Researching for a new washer (top open? front open?), I decided I wanted another front-loader and saw this Maytag was at the top of several recommended lists. Though it cost double what the LG cost, I appreciate Maytag's clean, unfussy look, its intelligent design on the programs, and that there are not too many programs! or wash selections. It is quiet, large capacity and washes the clothes extremely well, while spinning them well so that the dryer is not used for long (when used). It is the nicest washer I have ever owned (numbering four now over nearly 40 years). Would highly recommend it to anyone.

There have been a few times the cycle has ended and the clothes are still wet and needed to go through the spin cycle again

Unnatural sound in the washing and spin cycle.

sounds bad 10/17/2025

we have had this new washer for less than a month, and used it only about 8-10 times, and it has already developed a loud "ticking" sound in the spin cycle. It is an abnormal sound that should not be heard in a brand new washer. We do have a call to the appliance store but will not have a technician out to our home until the 6th of November to check out the problem. Hopefully we do not have a "lemon".

great washer. the anti-vibrational system is excellent, far better than the 4.5 cu ft. washer. Quiet machine and nice large drum. great product!

Drum has always made noise in spin cycle.

70 year old lady 10/5/2025

Even after checking the level, the drum makes a terrible thumping sound in spin cycle. Doesn™€™t matter the size of the load. Sometimes I have to run the drain & spin cycle after the load is done. I have always had Maytag washer & dryer sets. Won™€™t replace until it completely quits. I had to buy this set when the last dryer got fire.

excellent product

OscarIdell 10/4/2025

I bought both the dryer and washer and had them stack in laundry room. What a space saving feature. The dryer and washer are excellent at cleaning and washing clothes and with the commercial grade 10 year warranty makes the purchase a no brainer

Quality not as good

Kimmie18 10/4/2025

I find the quality of the newer washers not as good as the previous. I wish it had a rinse only cycle and also a light on the inside of the drum. Additionally, it doesn't balance when in the spin cycle so takes longer. I should have changed to LG this time around.

not happy at all with washer and dryer. It seems on both the timers are off. You wash and within say 15min to finish wash within one minute it stops. the same with dryer. Only way to use dryer is by doing the timer itself and setting the time and heat. The rest. It'll show 1+04 min to dry by 40 min it stops hate them both I wished I could have boughten something else. Whirlpool is the same. Didn't realize mag tac is made by whirlpool
